On this page I have provided a quick summary on animated films that have
been made based on DC characters. I may have not included some
titles as I tend to focus on mainstream superhero and related
titles. These are typically films that were produced and went
straight to home video, but in a couple of cases actually was
released in the theaters first and then went to home video.
I do have a page on my site focused on DC live-action films
that you can visit by clicking here.
Superman Max Fleischer's Studios
(1940s)
The
first example of animated DC films was released back in the 1940s. Although technically not a movie, but released in theaters
as animated shorts were Max Fleischer's Superman serials in 1941 and
1942.
The cartoons were well ahead of their day comparable to some of Walt
Disney's classic films of that time. I think it's worth
including to my page and if you watch them all continuously it's as
if watching one long movie with so many wonderful adventures.
With superb animation, wonderful big band music and nifty stories
they have become classics and anyone who hasn't seen them have
really missed out.
They were voiced by the Superman from the radio show at that
time-Bud Collyer with Superman taking on all sorts of mad
scientists, bank robbers, thugs and even Axis related villains of
war.
Superman does some incredible things in these short films and adds
to the lore of the Man of Steel which influenced many Superman
stories in all mediums that followed.
They are available on DVD by itself and
are contained in the Superman Ultimate Collector’s Edition
and in the Superman Motion Picture Anthology as
well which is on Blu-Ray.
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)
The first full-length DC animated film which was released in theaters was back in 1993 as
a spin-off from the successful Batman Animated Series that
appeared on Fox TV. It was called Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.
A new villain named Phantasm is terrorizing Gotham City’s underworld
and killing several criminals in its wake.
Batman is out to find out who is responsible for the murders and
just who is this new villain.
Bruce Wayne also revisits a past relationship which ultimately has
connections to the Phantasm while the Joker is somehow connected to
the criminals that the Phantasm has offed.
There are several flashback scenes displaying Bruce Wayne and his
former love interest Andrea Beaumont and their life together before
she mysteriously disappears and the creation of the Joker is told.
Batman, Phantasm and the Joker all end up at an abandoned fair
ground where Bruce and Alicia had spent time together many years
earlier for a big exploding finale.
The film is definitely on par with the regular TV series that had a
very successful run in the 1990s with fantastic animation and voice
acting by regulars Kevin Conroy-Batman and Mark Hamill-Joker and
future Lois Lane voice actress-Dana Delany who voices the part of
Andrea Beaumont. The movie is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Superman: Last Son of Krypton
(1996)
The pilot movie for the new Superman Animated Series came in
1996 with Superman: Last Son of Krypton.
Tim Daly of Wings TV series fame voices Clark Kent/Superman and Dana
Delany voices Lois Lane while Clancy Brown stars as Lex Luthor.
The film initially starts on the planet Krypton with a good amount
of time showing what life was like there and eventually presenting
the legendary story of how young Kal-El is sent to Earth in a rocket
by his father and mother and the decision made by Jor-El that will
ultimately change
Kal-El and Earth forever.
We get to see young Clark Kent now growing up on the Smallville farm
and moving to Metropolis where he will meet Lois Lane and other
Superman supporting characters including of course Lex Luthor.
The
movie is in the same style as the Batman Animated Series-a
sort of cross between anime with a unique modern flair that will be
DC’s trademark for the next 15 years in other animated movies and TV
series. It is a very well-made film with good animation and voice
performances. The movie is available on DVD.
Batman & Mr. Freeze Sub Zero (1998)
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
The Batman Animated Series producers created another movie
called
Batman & Mr. Freeze Sub Zero in 1998.
Mr. Freeze has taken Barbara Gordon/Batgirl in order to save his
wife by using Barbara as a forced organ donor and Batman and Robin
are out to find and rescue her.
The animation quality is the same as the award-winning animated TV
series with regulars voicing their parts-Kevin Conroy as Batman,
Loren Lester as Robin, Bob Hastings as Commissioner Gordon, Efrem
Zimbalist Jr. as Alfred and Michael Ansara as Mr. Freeze.
Batman Animated Series fans will enjoy the film and will want
to add this to their collection. The movie is available on DVD
or as a double-feature DVD with Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.
The Batman and Superman Movie
(1998)
The
producers of both the Batman Animated Series and the Superman
Animated Series decided to have both iconic characters in the same
story and produced The Batman and Superman Movie in 1998.
Bruce Wayne is in Metropolis and scours the city as Batman to check
in on a case he’s been following. He encounters Superman for the
first time in this film and both will learn each other’s
identities.
The Joker and Lex Luthor have teamed up to take on both the Dark
Knight and the Man of Steel and the action and story are
consistently good with that of the regular series. Lois Lane
has the attention of Bruce and Clark to add a little intrigue and
tension between the two as both in their alter egos do not approve
of each other’s crime fighting methods.
This movie will not disappoint fans of both shows. The movie is
available on DVD.
Batman Beyond:
Return of the Joker (2000)
Inspired by the Batman series at that time came Batman Beyond:
Return of the Joker in 2000. Bruce Wayne has in this
series and movie long since retired and a younger person is now
Batman.
The
Joker was thought to have been killed years ago, but a new Joker has
appeared on the scene and Bruce Wayne suspects he is the real Joker.
Tie-in with Tim Drake-the previous Robin and the killing of the
Joker are told to understand what occurred before and what may be
going on now with this new Joker returning. Batman, the
original Batman and Batgirl all search for the truth.
The
film is pretty consistent with the series. The way Batman was
drawn was not necessarily the style that I preferred, but other
aspects of the movie were similar to the original Batman Animated
Series look which I like very much. The movie is available
on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman
(2003)
The
Batman Animated Series producers created yet another Batman
movie called Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman in 2003.
The movie features the Dark Knight encountering a female vigilante-Batwoman
who has been working to take down the Penguin and Ruppert Thorn who
have an agreement to sell illegal arms.
Bane is also featured in the movie and Batwoman is in deep trouble
as she takes on the entire clan needing the assistance of Batman to
bail her out.
The movie has good action and good dialogue and performances
are consistent with the regular animated series. The movie is available
on DVD and Blu-Ray.
The
Batman vs. Dracula (2005)
Another TV series inspired animated film came in 2005. The
Batman vs. Dracula featured Batman against the Prince of
Darkness. The Penguin accidentally revives Dracula and becomes
hypnotized by him allowing Dracula to go about Gotham City to feed
on unsuspecting prey.
The
Joker was originally thought to be have died initially before
Dracula was revived and becomes a vampire too. Batman searches
for a cure to return all of Dracula's victims back to normal.
The animation and action is very good. It is like watching an
extended version of the show which was quite popular in its own
right. The movie is available on DVD.
Superman: Brainiac
Attacks (2006)
In the first singularly devoted Superman Animated Series
movie since the initial pilot movie comes Superman: Brainiac
Attacks in 2006.
Lex Luthor is out to destroy Superman and utilizes one of his
Kryptonian enemies Brainiac to accomplish this task. Luthor
reconfigures Brainiac to incorporate a unique form of Kryptonite
that will make him almost impossible to defeat when he faces off
with the Man of Steel.
Superman has to not only defeat both, but save Lois Lane’s life in
the process. The movie is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Superman: Doomsday (2007)
The beginning of a new wave of animated movies by DC came in 2007
with Superman: Doomsday that went straight to DVD unlike some
of the previous offerings above which were inspired by their TV
series.
An adaptation of the most publicized Superman story ever where
Superman is killed by the alien Doomsday is the premise of this
film.
The movie does not fully adapt all parts from the comic books, but
to see the story be displayed in full animation is certainly a treat
for all of us fans. Superman is pummeled as you would expect since
we know the outcome, but you don’t really know how a film turns on
until you actually see it unfold.
The primary producer behind the Superman and Batman Animated
Series produced this movie and continues to impress with his
rendition of Superman and his world. The movie is available on DVD
and Blu-Ray.
Justice League The New Frontier
(2008)
Justice League The New Frontier
in 2008 was based on the popular graphic novel of the same
name.
The Justice League form as a group for the very first time back in
the 1950s with Superman, Batman, Wonder
Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter and Flash as founding
members.
The origins of the heroes are told with a different look and feel
than what we’ve previously seen in the comics or other media.
The heroes take on creatures that require the powers of all
the heroes to defeat.
Since the movie is based in the 1950s, those who feel nostalgic for
the time will enjoy the way the artists have created that era in
this film. It continues in a long line of well made DC
animated movies. The movie is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Batman Gotham Knight (2008)
Based on the Japanese anime style comes Batman Gotham Knight
in 2008 which has similarities in style and feel as that of the
Matrix anime films called Animatrix.
Batman short stories are told in several chapters taking Batman from
his beginnings to eventual Dark Knight status in Gotham City and along
the way he takes on various criminals Scarecrow, Killer Croc and Deadshot.
It is a much darker Batman animated movie that has not been seen
before. It has the kind of action that you would expect,
but is much edgier and some scenes are very brutal. Batman is drawn in
a different style in a couple of the segments that take a little
getting used to.
The movie is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Wonder Woman (2009)
The Amazon Princess was turned into an animated movie called
Wonder Woman in 2009.
Here the movie retells Wonder Woman’s origin very much staying true
to the comics with her meeting Steve Trevor and accompanying him
back to the United States, but there are added twists with Ares wanting to exact
revenge on the Amazons.
Wonder Woman goes head to head with the God of War. I thought this
movie was well done with good voice acting performances by the
cast. It is on par with some of the previous DC films.
We often don’t get to see too many female superheroes depicted on TV
or movies so this one needs to be acquired. The movie
is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Green Lantern First Flight (2009)
The Emerald Gladiator received his first feature animated movie in
2009 with Green Lantern First Flight.
The film presents new fans with his legendary origin and shows a
vast amount of the other Green Lanterns with Kanjar Ro and Sinestro
plotting the eventual destruction of the Guardians of the Universe.
Here we see the newest Green Lantern-Hal Jordan learning the ropes
and proving himself worthy of being a Green Lantern as he has to
save Oa from Sinestro and his newly created yellow ring.
The animation and production of this film was incredible. It
was well worth the long wait for a solely devoted Green Lantern
film.
The movie is
available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Superman Batman Public Enemies
(2009)
In 2009 another of DC’s popular comic book series was produced into
a film called Superman Batman Public Enemies.
Lex Luthor is President of the United States and sets up Superman
for a murder and has all of the current superheroes serving his
newly form government out to get Superman. Batman is Superman’s
only ally and gets targeted as well.
Luthor puts a large bounty on Superman’s head with super-villains
taking part in hunting them both to collect the reward. Both heroes
have quite a few tussles with all of the super-powered beings in
order to get at Luthor and bring the regime down.
This is another well-made film and we get to see quite a number of
characters not usually found in the same show. The characters are
drawn in similar fashion to that of the comic to give the right look
and feel. The movie is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Justice League Crisis on Two Earths (2010)
One of the Justice League’s best super-villain team and one of DC’s
most interesting story archs was brought to home video in 2010 with the
Justice League Crisis on Two Earths.
There is an alternate world where the Justice League has a
doppelganger team who work on the wrong side of justice called the
Crime Syndicate.
The JLA are summoned to help by that world’s Lex Luthor who is
actually good and transport themselves to fight against the Crime
Syndicate who are creating an atomic bomb to destroy Earth’s
reality.
There’s a lot of good action with so many super-powered characters
battling it out. Another high-quality film with the animation in
the same style of the Justice League Animated Series and
Justice League Unlimited Animated Series with an all-star cast
of actors voicing the characters. The
movie is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Batman: Under the Red Hood (2010)
In 2010 the story of Jason Todd the second Robin whose death
previously comes full-circle in the film Batman: Under the Red Hood an
adaptation of the comic Under the Red Hood.
A new mysterious vigilante named the Red Hood is cleaning up Gotham
City of its crime by any means necessary. Batman is out to find out
who the Red Hood is and stop him from going beyond the bounds of law
with his tactics.
The Joker, Ra's Al Ghul and the Black Mask are intricately connected
in the Red Hood’s onslaught.
There are some great retroactive scenes taken from the comic
storylines found in the Death in the Family and of course Under the Red Hood.
This is yet another well produced DC animated movie that has fast
and furious and intense action sequences that will not disappoint
fans. The movie is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Superman/Batman Apocalypse
(2010)
Another popular comic book is adapted into a DC animated movie
called Superman/Batman Apocalypse in 2010.
The storyline continues from the previously released
Superman Batman: Public Enemies
whereby a piece of the Kryptonite
meteor from the end of that film crashes into Gotham City and there
a young girl who turns out to be Superman’s niece is discovered.
Supergirl is brought into the DC animated movie mix. Spied from
afar, Darkseid sets his plans on bringing her to his homeworld to
lead his royal guard army.
Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman travel to Darkseid’s planet to
free Supergirl and battle Darkseid and his forces. Darkseid is a
very ominous figure in this film and is as menacing as Jack Kirby
had intended when he created the character in the 1970s.
The movie is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Superman/Shazam-Return
of Black Adam (2010)
Captain Marvel finally got his opportunity for an animated film
albeit along with Superman in the same movie called Superman/Shazam-Return
of Black Adam in 2010.
This movie DVD has four separate short films. Some were found on
other DC animated movies listed earlier.
The main one involves Superman and Captain Marvel teaming up to take
on Black Adam who is one of Captain Marvel’s oldest nemesis. Captain
Marvel’s origin is told as well.
The other three short features are focused on Green Arrow, Spectre
and Jonah Hex which are all well-made, but I would’ve liked to see
these run longer. Possibly DC will explore having these characters
made into longer features, but what is there is very good and stays
in line with the high quality animation and stories that have been
produced to date.
I’m sure I’m not speaking out of turn from most other’s opinion when
I say that it would’ve been nice to see Captain Marvel featured in
his own solely devoted film. I of course like Superman, but Captain
Marvel needs to have his own animated movie within his own world and not have
other mainstream characters included. The movie is available
on DVD and Blu-Ray.
All-Star Superman (2011)
All-Star Superman in 2011 was based on the popular graphic
novel of the same name.
Superman is dying of solar radiation and during his last days on
earth reveals his identity to Lois Lane and grants her super powers
for 24 hours and has to save the earth from destruction.
The movie has some wonderful moments with Superman and Lois
utilizing her new powers and the two are flying all around and up
into space.
There are some great skirmishes with Parasite and Solaris and
the intense finale with Lex Luthor having gained Superman’s powers
in his attempt to defeat the Man of Steel once and for all.
There is a poignant moment at the end that will leave most who watch
the movie with tears in their eyes.
The movie keeps in line with the other high quality DC animated
movies with its solid voice performances and animation. The movie
is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Green Lantern Emerald Knights
(2011)
The follow up to the Green Lantern First Flight movie came in
the multiple story film called Green Lantern Emerald Knights
in 2011.
Here we get a retelling of past adventures of several Green Lanterns
including Hal Jordan, Kilowog, Sinestro and others that are
intricately connected to one another. We get see the origins of
some of the corps members as well.
Each recount shows the different Lanterns in action against a threat
that will ultimately tie back into the finale. You get an
opportunity to see some of the members in this movie up close and
personal in their own personal struggles and then with the whole team working together to take on the powerful threat in the end.
The movie shows the ingenuity of the Lanterns like never seen before
and I think most viewers will come away as Green Lantern fans.
The animation and the voice performances continue to be at a
high-level. The movie is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Batman Year One (2011)
The award-winning story from the 1980s by Frank Miller finally got
adapted into an animated feature called Batman Year One in
2011.
Here we get to see how Bruce Wayne goes through his first year
as Batman and his intense training in preparation to take on
Gotham’s crime years after the death of his parents. A young Jim
Gordon is on display before he ever becomes police commissioner.
DC continues with a dark and action packed movie which brings the
intrigue and excitement of the origin of Batman and his beginnings
as the Dark Knight detective.
Although origin stories have been retold over and over again in so
many different ways and places, it is always a good story to do a
movie on and this one stands up there with some of the better origin
animated movies. The film is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Justice League: Doom (2012)
In
2012 the Justice League: Doom was released. It was an
intriguing film that featured long-time Golden Age Flash/Justice
Society of America villain Vandal Savage who has a plot to
exterminate the human population and restart his own civilization.
He hacks into Batman's computers and steals contingency plans that
Batman has created to reduce all of the Justice League members.
Each
member is taken out one by one with the help of a rogue's gallery of
villains who are the arch-nemeses of our heroes. Batman has to
save each of his teammates and defeat Vandal Savage and his group as
well as Earth. The film is the expected high-quality DC
animation with good voice performances. The film is available
on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Superman vs. The Elite (2012)
An
anti-hero team called the Elite decides the best way to handle
crooks are to kill them which garners them public adulation.
This is the premise of Superman vs. The Elite in 2012.
Superman disagrees with their methods and has to battle the group
which takes some doing as each of them have very interesting powers
that neutralizes Superman's. The film is high-quality with
good voice performances. The film is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Batman: The Dark Knight
Returns Pt 1 (2012)
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Pt 2
(2012)
The
long-awaited adaptation of one of the best selling graphic novels of
all-time finally came in 2012 and broken into two parts. Batman: The Dark Knight
Returns Pt 1 and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Pt 2
adapts Frank Miller's book about an aged and retired Batman who has
not fought crime in some time with Gotham City rampant with new
criminals.
Bruce
Wayne returns in an uncertain city and ends up training a new Robin,
a young girl who is inspired by the return of Batman. The Dark
Knight battles a very tough foe in the form of the Mutant Leader and
his minions. Superman is on the other side working for the
State and is ordered to go and handle Batman. The two will
square off while Joker is right in the middle of things. This
is a brutal film in some scenes and highly graphic. It is for
mature audiences and is true to the graphic novel. There is
another version of the film where it is combined into one movie.
Either watching it in two parts or the full length story, it's like
watching a real movie. The film is available on DVD and Blu-Ray
with additional features.
Superman: Unbound (2013)
Adapted from writer Geoff Johns' story in the comic books,
Superman: Unbound in 2013 features Kryptonian threat Braniac who
has miniaturized the city of Kandor and travels through the galaxy
to extract his knowledge of each world and then destroying them
afterwards. He discovers that each civilization's information
would be obsolete after traveling to a new world as things do not
stay stagnant so in order to ensure he has captured all information,
the world must be obliterated. His current target is Earth and
it is up to Superman and Supergirl to stop him. This is
another high-quality film with very good animation and performances.
The film is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (2013)
Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox in 2013 loosely adapts
the mini-series Flashpoint where Barry Allen reflects on the
death of his mother who he was unable to save when he was a child.
He foils an attempt by some of his rouges gallery of villains only
to later wake up that his entire world has changed dramatically.
He no longer has his powers and his mother is alive. His wife
is married to someone else and the Justice League does not exist.
Professor Zoom has altered history using a unique time shift
process.
The
Flash has to convince Bruce Wayne's father-Thomas Wayne who is
Batman in this reality to help. He also recruits the
assistance of other heroes to help him and works to break through
the time restraints in order to put things back to normal.
This is another high-quality film with very good animation and
performances. The film is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
JLA
Adventures: Trapped in Time (2014)
JLA
Adventures: Trapped in Time in 2014 is about the Legion of Doom
who teams up with the Time Trapper and goes back in time in order to
eliminate members of the Justice League of America before they
became heroes. It's a nice stand-alone film which harkens back
to an episode of the Challenge of the Super Friends which had the
Legion of Doom going back in time and being in place ahead of some
of the Justice League members before they could acquire their super
powers. This is a good film with very good animation and
performances. The film is available on DVD.
Justice League: War (2014)
Justice League: War in 2014 adapted the New 52 DC Comic and
picks up from the ending of the
Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox animated film where
Parademons are released through a portal from Apokolips, Darkseid's
world. Darkseid has been plotting to invade Earth with some of
the Justice League combating one another as he begins his full
invasion. The Justice League work to recover and defeat
Darkseid in this movie. This is a high-quality film with very
good animation and performances. It is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Son
of Batman (2014)
Son
of Batman in 2014 was adapted from the Batman and Son
comic book featuring Damian Wayne who is the son of Bruce Wayne and
Talia Al Ghul. Damian has been training at his grandfather's
stronghold-Ra's Al Ghul to someday take over the League of Assassins.
Slade-Deathstroke was originally picked to be Ras' successor, but
Batman was identified by Ras as being a more worthy successor who
refused. Shunned by Ras, Deathstroke plotted his revenge
against Ras and his assassins.
The
film has very intriguing scenes between Talia, Bruce Wayne and
Damian as Bruce has to learn to accept this is his son.
Nightwing is also featured in this film and has many action filled
scenes with Damian and Deathstroke. This is a high-quality
film with very good animation and performances. It is
available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Batman: Arkham Asylum (2014)
Batman: Assault on Arkham in 2014 was inspired by the video game
Batman: Arkham Asylum. Amanda Waller assigns several
criminals including Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Black
Spider, Killer Frost, George 'Digger' Harkness to kill the Riddler
who was rescued from a black ops assassination and returned to
Arkham Asylum. The six criminals have bombs implanted into
their spines to force their compliance for the mission.
Riddler has the knowledge to deactivate the bombs while the Joker
escapes from his cell and reunites with Harley Quinn who is amongst
the six criminals. He apparently has stored a bomb within
Harley's hammer and plans on detonating it in Gotham City.
Batman races to defeat the foes and save Gotham with some assistance
of Deadshot. This is a high-quality film with very good
animation and performances. It is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Atlantis (2015)

war with the surface people, but his mother the queen refuses.
Orn and Black Manta find a way to blame an incident on the surface
world and Atlantis and are eventually able to kill his mother to
start a war per his late father's wishes.
Arthur
Curry-Aquaman has slowly been assimilated to his new world of
Atlantis and teams up with the Justice League to combat Orn and
Black Manta and their armies. This is yet another high-quality
film with great animation and performances. It is available on
DVD and Blu-Ray.

another Batman mini-series called Batman: The Court of Owls
came
Batman vs. Robin in 2015. Damian Wayne has taken on the
mantle of Robin and begins investigating some missing children and
encounters a mysterious man called Anton Schott who is responsible
for the children's disappearance. Anton is involved with a
long-time society called the Court of Owls who once controlled
Gotham City and killed any who opposed them. An assassin named
Talon is a part of the Court of Owls and tries to recruit Robin so

Three scientists suspiciously die and are attributed to the three

work to clear their names while thwarting the real culprit.
Along the way Superman learns of his origin which has a deviation
from the comic books. The three are completely changed and vow
to help human kind. Another high-quality film with great
animation and performances. It is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem (2015)
The
sequel to the earlier 2015 TV series inspired animated movie called

to render modern technology useless and take over Gotham City.
Solomon Grundy, Silver Banshee, Clayface and Scarecrow assist the
Joker while Batman, Nightwing, Red Robin, Cyborg and Green Arrow
team up to defeat them. The film had the look and feel of the
series at that time and is very good. It is available on DVD
and Blu-Ray.
Batman: Bad Blood (2016)

changed. A high-quality film with great animation and

Batman: Return of the Caped
Crusaders (2016)
The much beloved Batman TV show from the
1960s inspired the animated film Batman: Return of the Caped
Crusaders in 2016. The film brought back the only three
surviving members of the show at that time-Adam West, Burd Ward and
Julie Newmar to voice the parts that made them internationally
famous.
The film was initially released in
theaters for a short period of time before it went to home video.
The premise of the film has Batman's
four arch-criminals the Joker, Penguin, Riddler and Catwoman working
together to steal a replicator ray invention that duplicates
anything. The villains have fled to outer space with the ray
and the dynamic duo discover their whereabouts and travel to a space
station to stop them. Catwoman is thought to have betrayed the
criminals due to her romantic affection for Batman and they try to
dump her. The filmmakers tried to bring back some of the essence of
the TV show to this film and succeeded. The camp humor from
the show is mixed in with the performances and the infamous word
bubbles for individual punches and crashes are there too.
